The structure of the building was drawn using an HB pencil, keeping the marks loose but taking note of the proportions of its various sections. No attempt was made to keep any of the upright lines vertical, as sometimes a building can look more interesting leaning over a little! Some of the drawing was then shaded with the wash pencil, exerting more pressure in some areas that were darker in tone, whilst occasionally altering the angle of the pencil marks. This was then washed over with a waterbrush in clear water to add a little variation. Finally, the stronger darks were added with an 8B pencil.
